Few years ago during History I read about the separation of Singapore and Malaysia.
Then, I was quite bewildered when I read that LKY cried when they separated and I always wondered like, why the hell would it affect him so much. I mean, it's not like Malaysia is his wife or anything.
Today I finally understand how he felt I guess.
When you believe in somethings so strongly all your life and one day you realise that everything's going to come crashing down, it hurts so bad it makes you sad.
I guess the separation was never a clean break though.
One will always need water from the other, both will always be connected by a bridge.
