Ehh..stay up for what. Just go and sleep la. I never bother, cos the message won't disappear anyway by the time you wake up in the morning!
Besides, if he didn't SMS:
1) he has a good reason, so you don't have to stay up, OR
2) he doesn't have a good reason, and hence is not worth staying up for anyway.
